What makes a good class?

We have been thinking about what makes a good class and a good classroom. We worked together to create a display of all these things that will go up on our ceiling. It's a work in progress but it already makes the Sistine Chapel look average. Here's a sneak peek of what we've done so far..

Mathletics

Mathletics is up and running for the year 1 children in the class, if you haven't got it yet, see Mr Ackner for their username and secret password. Then they can start earning points and win certificates.

Art

In art we have been looking at patterns and textures, we went out into the playground to make rubbings of different surfaces that we found.

Our topic this term is pirates, we are going to learn about real pirates in history and read fiction and non fiction books about pirates. We had a special dress like a pirate day to get the whole of key 1 in the mood.
