Pirate Assembly

Our pirate assembly was a massive success, thank you to all the parents who came to show their support, the children really appreciated it. They did incredibly well, with very few rehearsals and lots of last minute changes. I can't wait to see what they deliver next term..

The fearsome pirate Blackbeard..

Blackbeard marooning his poor crew on a desert island with no food.

'Arrr!! they got me!'... Blackbeard goes down...

All the actors lining up for their applause..

Tonight on the news...

In literacy we watched a channel 4 news report all about pirate fishing. We then made our own TV news reports and performed them to the rest of class on our brand new 64 inch plasma TV.

Science Topic

We have been learning about forces in science this term. We planned and carried out an experiment to discover the effect of ramp height on how far a car travels. We got some very interesting results..

We predicted that the higher and steeper the ramp, the further the car would travel. However, we found when the ramp got too steep it slowed the car down because it bumped the ground when it reached the flat surface.

Maths Evening

This Thursday after school we will be running workshops to explain how we teach maths at Cabot Primary. This will give you the best opportunity to support your child's understanding in maths. The workshops, with your children, will be 15 minutes long and located in the Year 2 class from 3.30. Before this you can collect your child and head to the hall for a free cup of tea.

Goodbye!

Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to someone in our class at the end of this term. Miss Martinez has been with us from the beginning of the year but has left to start a really important job helping people in another community in Bristol.  We will all really miss her but we know she will be doing important work to help people and she will come back and visit us soon...

Goodbye and good luck Miss Martinez!!
