Aliens have landed

Last Friday something rather strange happened, an alien visited our school. We saw handprints on the windows and when we went exploring we spotted a strange black creature creeping around. It was very shy but after a while it started to communicate with us, we think it's spaceship had crashed and it was trying to fix it.

Only one photo exists of the strange creature and no one knows the truth, some people believe that it was not real and was just someone dressed up. What do you believe?

Snow day!

On Friday we got some proper snow, a lot of schools in Bristol closed but not Cabot. Some teachers had to walk for over an hour to get there as the roads were too icy. Because of them the school stayed open for the children and we had a great day. 

We wrote instructions on how to make a snowman then went outside to put them into practice..

After that we had a HUGE snowball fight, it was so much fun we had another one in the afternoon! 

Learning about colours

In Art we are looking at Kandinsky's work. We will be creating our own pictures soon but first we looked at how to make colours and then used paint to find out which ones go together. 

 

We will remember them...

One of our gluesticks dried today. We are all very shocked and no one was expecting it. Our thoughts are with the other gluesticks at this difficult time. 

If we have learned anything from this tragic event it is that we really have to look after our resources better and always put lids back on our glues. Hopefully this is the last time it will happen and this poor gluestick will not have dried in vain...

Blast Off!

Our new topic this term is called Blast Off! We are going to learn about space in lots of different subjects. In literacy we will be reading and writing stories about astronauts, in science we will be looking at light and dark and in art we will be studying Kandinsky's work and creating our own planet pictures inspired by him. We will also be visiting the Planetarium on our school trip very soon!
