New York, Paris, London, Cabot

For our black history week We have been learning about Ozwald Boateng. He is a fashion designer based in London. Although he was born there his family are originally from Ghana and Ghanaian culture influences his work. We learned about his life and looked at his clothes to inspire us to design our own ties in his style. Then we held a catwalk show for the whole school to show off our designing and modelling skills. The children were very brave and everyone took part. Here are their designs being expertly modeled by them.

Our literacy focus this term

We have been learning to write instructions in literacy this term. As part of our pirate topic we have written instructions on how to trap a pirate. Recently we have been learning how hard a pirate's life can be. Today we wrote instructions on how to amputate a leg, one brave boy volunteered to be the pirate...

First, tie the string around the leg.

Next, give them a wooden block to bite on.

After that saw the leg off below the string

ARGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Finally wrap the leg in bandages.

Now get back to work you lazy pirate!!!

We all should work together...

Someone wrote this on our piece of art about being a good class. Although the spelling needs work, we think it perfectly captures what the project is about. Here are the photos of us finishing it off, even Mr Ackner drew a picture!

Thankyou to Selah for taking the pictures..
